This book is a counter to all doomsday fantasies and any cultural pessimism. Reading the book beats marathons, visiting a fitness center, extended bar visits, and Zen. It is pure intellectual endorphin. At the same time, Steven Pinker incorporates current, psychological knowledge. It is the best 1000 pages on culture we have read in the past 10 years.
