You can read about it in the book by Gigerenzer and colleagues. It is a guide to operate cautiously with statistics in general. Nowhere is there so much ideological trickery as with statistics and numbers. The book by Jens Berger, TAZ, is a correspondingly different example. Numbers are used to establish a fancy, allegedly leftist world view. It is funny that the SPIEGEL recommended both books. We recommend only one!
